classification in 2012 by the USSSA By-Laws that may be inadvertently
omitted from the list below are not exempt from being reclassified.
AUTOMATIC MOVE UP OF 2011 USSSA MEN’S
CLASS “B” TEAMS:
The USSSA Slow Pitch By-Laws require that the winner of the 2011
Men’s Class “B” World Tournament, and the winner
of each 2011 Men’s Class “B” National Tournament
with 25 or more teams, will be automatically required to compete
in a higher classification in 2012. The team affected by these by-laws
is as follows:

the finishing teams in the 2011 Men’s Class “C”
World Tournament (this includes teams that are tied with teams finishing
in the top 10 percent in order of their finish; all percentages
are rounded up), and the winner of each 2011 Men’s Class “C”
National Tournament with 25 or more teams, will be automatically

TEAMS:
The USSSA Slow Pitch By-Laws require that the winner of any 2011
Church Competitive and Recreational National Tournaments with 16
or more teams from their classification will automatically be required
to compete in the next higher classification in 2012. The teams
affected by this by-law are as follows:

RECLASSIFICATION OF 2011 USSSA TEAMS
BY THE NATIONAL
CLASSIFICATION COMMITTEE:
The USSSA Slow Pitch By-Laws grant the USSSA
National Classification Committee authority to reclassify teams
at any time.
No teams were affected by this by-law in 2011.

USSSA Mandatory Reclassifications
as of January 16, 2012
Criteria
for Move Ups:
1. Top 5 teams in Virginia USSSA summer state tournament automatically
reclassified.
2. Top 2 teams in Virginia USSSA fall state tournament automatically
reclassified.
3. Top 7 teams in points for Virginia automatically reclassified.
4. Top 7 teams in Power points for Virginia automatically reclassified.
NOTE: Teams may be registered one level lower than what they are
playing, but the team must play the higher level for at least 3
tournaments before being reclassified.

Any team not listed will start in the same
classification they ended 2011 in. This list may not be final. Teams
could still be re-classified after the date of this posting. Any
team that has 4 or more players from a team or teams that played
a higher classification in 201 or from a team or teams that are
reclassified for 2012 must start in the higher class.
A player can only play one class lower in 2012 than the class that
player ended 2011 in. Some teams listed may be in the class they
played in 2011. Teams may appeal after
playing in 3 tournaments to the Virginia USSSA State Slow Pitch
Director. USSSA ROSTER MUST BE ONLINE PRIOR
TO APPEAL. No appeals and reclassifications after July 1,
2012. The following will be classified in

USSSA Slow Pitch Improvement Plan
In an effort to improve the Virginia USSSA Slow Pitch
program and create a level playing field for all teams involved,
Virginia USSSA has compiled a list of teams that we recommend and
encourage to move up to the next level. These teams showed outstanding
play in the 2011 season. We are encouraging these teams to test
their skills against greater competition. Throughout the 2012 season,
all teams will be classified by their local area directors and teams
may be moved up or down at any time during the 2012 season. No team
will be re-classified up or down after July 1, 2012.
Men's C teams encouraged to move up to Men's B (Virginia
USSSA State rule: 6 homeruns):
