Super 8 Series General Information
2010 Season

The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series will consist of four (4) divisions:
Men's B/C
Men’s D
Men’s E
Women's C/D

There are six (6) tournaments for each division that are part of The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series.

NOTE: There is (1) women's Super 8 tournament NOT on this schedule. It will be held in Chesapeake. Site will be updated as soon as date is confirmed

Teams must play in two (2) of the Super 8 Series tournaments to be eligible for The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series Championship. Teams will earn Super 8 Series points based on Super 8 Series tournament results and participation points. Double points will be awarded for teams playing up in class. The more your team participates, the more points your team will receive!

Example: Team A plays in four (4) Super 8 Series tournaments. Team A finishes 2nd (4-2 record), 5th (3-2 record), 1st (5-0 record) and 8th (2-2 record) in these four tournaments.

In their first tournament (2nd, 4-2 record), Team A would receive 85 points.
55 points for 2nd place finish plus 10 BONUS POINTS plus 20 BONUS WIN POINTS.

In their second tournament (5th, 3-2 record), Team A would receive 60 points.
35 points for 5th place finsh plus 10 BONUS POINTS plus 15 BONUS WIN POINTS.

In their third tournament (1st 5-0 record), Team A would receive 145 points.
75 points for 1st place finish plus 10 BONUS POINTS, 25 BONUS PLUS POINTS plus 25 BONUS WIN POINTS plus 10 BONUS CHAMP POINTS.

In their four tournament (8th, 2-2 record), Team A would receive 75 points.
30 points for 8th place finish plus 10BONUS POINTS plus 25 BONUS PLUS POINTS plus 10 BONUS WIN POINTS.

Team A would have a total of 365 points in The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series.

Top 8 teams in each division (based on The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series points system) on August 1, 2010 will play in The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series Championship. NOTE: If one of the top 8 teams cannot play in the Series Championship, their berth will be handed down to the next team that is eligible for the Super 8 Series Championship. All ties will be broken by USSSA Power Rating as of August 1, 2010.

The Athletic Connection Super 8 Series Championship

Championship Date: September 4, 2010
Location: Ironbridge Park, Chesterfield, VA
Entry Fee: NO COST for all teams playing in at least 2 Super 8 tournaments.
$100 for teams playing in only 1 Super 8 tournaments.
$180 for teams that did not play in any Super 8 tournaments.
Format: Double Elimination
Who: Top 8 teams in each division

NOTE: Virginia USSSA reserves the right to change the tournament format and awards package based on Super 8 Series participation

Teams will be seeded in each division based on Super 8 Series points earned.

Each division champions will receive the following:
Super 8 Series champion trophy
15 tournament champion t-shirts
PAID WORLD Berth *
Travel money (Amount to be determined by Super 8 Series participation)
One (1) Worth softball bat
MVP award

Each division runner ups will recieve the following:
Super 8 Series runner up trophy
15 USSSA sunflower seeds
$100 off World Berth *

Each division third place finishers will receive the following:
Super 8 Series third place trophy

*NOTE: Champions must meet World Eligibility Requirements to receive and accept PAID World berth or berth will be handed down to next eligible team.
