TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
When: May 25-26, 2013
Where: Valley View Park & Pfitzner Complex
Entry Fee: $375
Format: 6gg--4gg (pool play) on Saturday. All teams will return for double elimination on Sunday & Monday
(NOTE: Monday will be used as a rain date, if necessary.)
Divisions: Men's C/D and E Divisions

Other tournament Information:
POOL PLAY: Teams will hit their own softballs in Pool Play on Saturday.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION: Two new and two playable SOFTBALLS will be provided by Virginia USSSA for each game played on SUNDAY. Teams are allowed to throw in a new softball during a game, but it must be a Worth Classic M or Plus softball. Worth Classic M or Plus softballs will be on sale during this event.

There will be a 100% bat check at this tournament. All bats will be phyically looked at for cracks, etc. and will be tested for compression. All bats that are not USSSA compliant will be confiscated for the weekend and will be returned to the owner of the bat when their team has completed tournament play.

** NOTICE **
Begininning January 1, 2013, bats will be legal for sanctioned USSSA play if the bat is manufactured by an approved USSSA bat manufacturer on the approved USSSA bat manufacturer list and has the NEW USSSA mark/logo (THUMB PRINT DESIGN) on the taper of the bat. See design below.

Diamond and Ice Sports Best of the West Tournament Awards Men's C/D & E Divisions Awards: Diamond and Ice Sports, The Athletic Connection, and Virginia USSSA reserves the right to change this awards package based on number of teams entered into this tournament. All awards are based off 16 teams in each divison. Champions: Champions team plaque, 15 tournament champions t-shirts, $200 certificate off any purchase from The Athletic Connection, PAID World berth (value up to $365), PAID National Berth (value up to $350) , unpaid State Berth and $500 team travel money. NOTE: Team travel money will be split for the highest finishing C team and highest finishing D team in the C/D division. Runner-ups: Runner-up team plaque, $100 off any purchase from The Athletic Connection, unpaid World Berth, unpaid National Berth and PAID State Berth (valued up to $275). 3rd place: Team plaque, $50 off any purchase from The Athletic Connection, unpaid National Berth and unpaid State Berth. 4th place: Team plaque, $50 off any purchase from The Athletic Connection, unpaid National Berth and unpaid State Berth. All Tournament Team: Individual All Tournament Team Certificates MVP: MVP Plaque, Sportsman Shop Turfs and Worth Hat Offensive MVP: Offensive MVP Plaque and Worth Hat Defensive MVP: Defensive MVP Plaque and Worth Hat NOTE: Team travel fund is based off 10 teams in each division. To receive paid berth and travel fund, teams must enter and play in State and National and World tournaments.

Diamond and Ice Sports Homerun Derby Information

When: SATURDAY, May 25, 2013 at 6:30 pm

Where: Valley View Park

Entry Fee: $15.00 per entry (all entries entered prior to 8:30 pm can re-enter after hitting one time. Cost to re-enter $10.)

Who: Anyone playing in the Diamond and Ice Sports Best of the West Memorial Day Tournament

ENTRY DEADLINE: 9:00 pm, May 25th

Each hitter will receive a Diamond and Ice Homerun T-shirt when they enter the event.

Rules:

Hitters must provide their own pitcher or borrow someone

Diamond and Ice Sports will ALL bats for this event. All hitters must hit with the bats provided. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Diamond and Ice Sports will provide softballs for this event.

Virginia USSSA will be raffling a WORTH 454 during the Diamond and Ice Sports Best of the West event. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5.00 a ticket. Drawing for the Worth 454 bat will be held on Sunday, May 26th at 8:00 pm.

Format:

Opening Round :  8 pitches and 8 swings

Top 5 hitters (including ties) will advance to Final Round

Final Round: 6 pitches, 6 swings

Final Round ties will be broken using 1 pitch/1 swing sudden death format until we have a CHAMPION.
